Haruo Yamashiro Receives Prestigious Award
On a beautiful March 2, 2003 day, a group of approximately forty well-wishers and supporters, consisting of family and OAA, Inc. friends attended a luncheon at the Quiet Cannon Country Club Restaurant in Montebello, CA. A large group of attendees, representing four other Kenjinkais (besides OAA, inc.), were also there to honor five recipients receiving awards from the Agricultural Department of Japan for individuals exhibiting outstanding achievements in their respective fields in agriculture. Sponsored by the Dai Nippon Nokai Nanka Shikai, Mr. Haruo Yamashiro, past President of OAA, Inc. received the prestigious KOHAKU JUKU KOSHO AWARD. Earlier, in December, 2002, Mr. Yamashiro and the other recipients were invited to the residence of Mr. Masaharu Kohno, The General Consul of Japan, who personally presented this award to each recipient, as well as presenting them with gifts from the Japanese government.
CONGRATULATIONS, Mr. Yamashiro!! You have made us so very proud! Your accomplishments are numerous and you are an inspiration to us all.
