8th Annual
Career Seminar
I wanted to express
my appreciation for allowing me to be of service and say a few words
at this year's career seminar. I guess this means I've finally grown
up. I wasn't one of the young people in the audience this time. I was
one the of old guys speaking. Akishamiyoo!
I also enjoyed the
appreciation dinner at Cherrystone's restaurant and the karaoke that
followed. The food was delicious and I never realized we had so many
talented board members and friends.
I hope others will
step forward and volunteer their knowledge and experience to help the
young Okinawans. Although I felt I had little to offer, I was warmly
received and talked to a few people afterwards who were just finishing
school or looking for a career change. They seemed genuinely interested
in what I had to share. I was glad that my contribution, however small,
was of value to some in attendance that day.
Thanks again. It
was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience and I'll encourage others
to participate next year.
