Documentary Screenings:
"Okinawa: The Afterburn"

June 24 and 27

The OAA will be hosting TWO special screenings in the month of June. The 2-hour documentary is equally educational, poignant, and shocking. Split into four parts, Junkerman covers World War II's devastating Battle of Okinawa in 1945, the U.S. military occupation of Okinawa, the trauma and complexities of war and occupation, and the ongoing protests against the bases that still operate on the islands.

Due to limited space/parking at both venues, priority seating
will be given to those who RSVP before the event.

June 24, 7:00 PM, OAA Center in Gardena
Academy Award-nominated director John Junkerman in attendance!
Free for OAA members, $5 for the public

June 27, 5:30 PM, Katy Geissert Civic Center Library in Torrance
